application timings

Post by tatts37 »

hi all
just thought id post my process on here
i first applied on the 7th of july and filled out my application and done online tests,
i then got an email to say id passed the tests and my interview would be on the 11th of august,
on the 17th of august i got an email saying id passed the interview and they were checking all my documents provided in the interview,
on the 20th of august i was emailed asking to fill out my 5 year work history, which i did on my candidate profile.(step 5)
on the 7th of september i got an email saying they were starting pre-employment checks and i had to answer 4 questions and email them back, the same day a few hours later i got an email asking to provide a id photo and to email to my manager which i did straight away, the email also started they were submitting my details for the security checks.(step 6)
this morning 15th of september i got my formal offer email (step 8) and i start in a few weeks :nana :nana :nana
hope this helps anyone still at the application stages it takes a while but you do get there in the end, this forum helped me out a lot so thanks for that
:Very Happy :Very Happy :nana :nana

Fair play mate, I first applied on 9th may and been stuck at pre employment checks since 24th July :( no idea if somethings gone wrong or what, if it wasn't for my status still saying pretty employment checks I would be sure I've been deleted off the system accidentally or something along those lines. I don't know for sure though because I have no way of contacting recruitment (other than emails which remain unreplied to) and everyone in the office are saying it's nothing to do with them.... The wait continues :(

Congratulations though mate :)

hi Ruddy_9
all i can say is hang in there mate the application process takes along time and everyone seems to get through at different times, from what I've read on this forum july and august are extra busy for the recruitment office.I also think it depends on how busy the office you've applied for is too,
have you tried these emails myapplication@royalmail.com or hrsc_rrf@royalmail.com also this number if you can get through but i believe they cut the line off in busy times but still worth a try 01142 414 422.
thanks pal and good luck :thumbup :thumbup

It's horrible to hear that others are going through it but at the same time it does help to know that you're not alone.
I had a call with a conditional offer over 4 weeks ago now and haven't heard at all, not been asked any questions or for a photo like everyone else seems to have been.the guy said it would take 2 weeks to go through.
I can't even track my progress online as it just says no applications, has been like it from the start.
I have been worrying that they've missed me off the system or something and not having any joy with emails.
Guess it's a waiting game.
My partner thinks I should go into the local delivery office and ask but I really don't want to seem pushy and ruin things before I start (if I ever start)

To the poster above, what did the manager say to you when you went in and enquired?
Can you track your application online? Mine has always said no applications, I'm on over 4 weeks now since getting a conditional offer by phone (was told it would take 2)

If you ring the number it tells you that they won't help you with any recruitment enquiries and to go online.
Have emailed and don't get replies.
I was over the moon when I got the call and I'm losing hope fast now!

Thanks tatts37 I've tried the myapplication address but not the hrs one, worth a shot! I've long since given up on that phone number though lol always says it's been cut.

Stephaniewakeford I wouldn't worry about hassling them (within reason of course lol) as someone else posted you would more than likely come across keen and I'm sure they would understand you just want to know what's going on. I've spoken to 3 postmen on their rounds and the manager over the last month and only been told it's out of their hands so just wait it out.

lozzac21 agree with you their pal frustrating is an understatement especially seeing people post on here with time frames so much shorter. I just want to know what's what you know what I mean? Way I'm looking at it is I've had a job offer until I hear a no its on its way

Ruddy_9/stephanie yeah same as,like i say i've spoke to the manager emailed him still not heard anything.
Can't understand why he can't speak direct on the phone to them.
i forwarded the emails to him as he said it would be helpful having a name that was on the bottom of the job offer.
I even emailed the name at the bottom of my job offer and not heard anything.

I got a call july from one lady and called her back as there were some dates that were worng on my five year job info.
Why i didn't keep that number, think at the time i assumed it was alll in motion.
When i went to the face to face interview i didn't know about it till the day before i had a reminder asking if i wanted to still go !!!
Thought well i never had the original one in the first place so always thought that was odd.
When i got there the manager wasn't even aware he was interviewing me,i had one wit him last year before this one and he put me on the waiting list still never had a letter or mail saying that.
He also said he had asked for staff in January 2015 and i went for my interview in June so look at that, well bad.
My postman says there snowed under having till work till six they can't believe it.
Anyway i'll keep you all posted on progress so let us know if you guys hear anything.

I'm now in the same boat as you all..received the congrats email saying it was being progressed to step 5 and had to fill in my 5 yr history and provide a license code(asked and sent twice). Now my profile say information required and today I get an email saying position is no longer available.. just well confused now.....

anyone had an email like that but says something else on the candidate profile.

Regards

Finally received my final offer this morning after waiting since the 24th July for security checks, no idea why it all took so long but I start on the 15th next month :)

Good luck to anyone else waiting and hang in there, I had completely given up on it to be honest.
