As promised and not too boring I hope.
Day induction two days on a round with two others, yesterday did first duty with another postie as one of the trainers pulled onto another one and finished less than an hour late. Duties roughly ran from 6:30 to 2; 15/30 with a 40 minute break. Yesterday was hard. Sorted 90% of frame got help with packets missorts and redirections and door to door already in for the day. Got out at 9:20 after PDA trainingthen flat out til three. Got to say first time out was really tough after the first three hours. You get fatigued but need to keep the pace up. Pleased to have done it though as going on a duty when My rota starts next week. Will still need help, but told no problem by the guy I'll be working with.. Luckily by all accounts seems like a really decent bunch of people in my office and people bring you into the fold bit by bit and lots of encouragement as well as the usual moans. Seems like them vs us situation but I'm not surprised and from what I've heard so far it needs to be. All in all thrown in at the deep end but overall really good first week. Claimed all overtime with no problems from day 1.
Not for the faint hearted!!!!!!!!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
