Bonuses...

Post by chris_pea »

Hi all, I`ve recently passed interview and waiting for security checks to go through ( which seems to be taking forever!). Not much was said about wages, bonuses and time off over Christmas not even holiday entitlement, the whole interview seemed very rushed in my opinion. So I`ve turned to this forum to see if someone can shed some light on this please, Thanx in advance...

Hi I'm in the same boat (waiting for security checks) what are your hours? I'm not sure on the whole holiday entitlement etc either.
Was thinking perhaps we would be told at induction?

Dependent on contract wages for casuals are around £7 and hour, for Temps/FTC and New Permanent its around £8.50 rising by 50p at 6 month intervals for a year. If working in a Delivery Function there is a supplement (bonus) of around 50p an hour till you get to 39 hours each week. There is no overtime pay until you reach that 39hours.

Leave/Holidays - you can purchase (after your first year) leave up to a maximum of 6 weeks (total) but IIRC it starts off at 4 weeks 2 days (based on a 5 day attendance pattern). You also get the national Bank Holidays (for each country) on top and in some cases the local and regional ones as well

Time off at Christmas - The 2 Days Bank Holiday only (usually Christmas Day and Boxing Day) - as this is the busiest time of the year for Royal Mail there is usually a leave ban and no-one can take annual leave.

This is all from memory so nothing should be taken as correct without checking when you start.
