Quick question about pay

Hi guys, newbie here to the job and the site so I apologise if this is in the wrong place and been asked millions of times. I Started on Monday with my Induction and worked through till today, Im on a 25 hour a week 3 month contract and was asked did I want to do a few hours overtime each day, I took it to get more expierence and learn more about the job. Got to today (friday) and I have seen I have been paid which I didn't expect, I thought i would be paid the following week. so my question is does pay work by you getting paid your contracted hours every week but over time comes the week after you do it, also if you were to miss a day would it be taken from the following weeks pay?

In essence you have it right - but sometimes the overtime can appear in the same week it all depends on when the manager and bookroom report it to wages - thats for both questions (OT and missing day)

Hi guys. I had my induction last week (Wednesday) I then worked for the rest of the week. My manager said the 8hrs for the induction would be part of my 24hr contract for that week. Last Friday I only got paid for my induction not for the weeks work. This week I have been paid for a full week, when i was expecting 24hrs plus the 16hrs from last week. Now my question is does the pay work a week in hand, or do you get paid on the Friday for that weeks work? If it is a week in hand thats fine. If its get paid on the week then I am owed 16hrs pay. Hope this makes sense!
