Offer Letter

Post by navybloke »

Well, the email with the offer letter was addressed to Jack (coincidentally, my son’s name) rather than John (my name), but we’ll let that go!

The offer letter mentioned core hours of 0600 to 2200, while the job advert says 0830 to 1430. I’m more than happy to bat off any ‘requests’ to do OT that I don’t want to do, but contractually where do I stand? I have no intention whatsoever of working for free out of hours, and am curious as to whether the ‘contract core hours’ give management any firm basis to demand (as opposed to request) OOH work.

See? Looking after number one weeks before I start! :cool

Rather than working for free the bigger issue seems to be management could ask you to start, & so finish, any time between 0600 & 1400, you need to get some confirmation from your manager they do only want you to work 0830 to 1430.
