part time work

Post by flomalone »

I was hoping some more part time jobs would be advertised, but they are always 30 hours a week. I can only work 3 days a week due to childcare. I'm happy to work some weekends, but not all. Is there any chance of this sort of post?? Thanks

You'd have thought so but unfortunately to their own detriment royal mail are incredibly inflexible when it comes to...well really anything, sorry if that's a negative answer but it's how they are, absolutely no innovation whatsoever.

As Ted says above really. It is unfortunately very inflexible. Joining an agency and doing shifts via that route will give you loads of flexibility.

There are a few posties in our office who would love to drop their hours but RMs idea of part-time involves working a full working week rather than just a few days because there is less indoor work available.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
