Hello,
I was a postman for 25 years and I left the company because I needed a knee operation. The operation has been done now and everything is spot on.I recently applied for a postperson Job at my local DO,I passed the interview and was then told I was put on a 3 month waiting list because someone got more points than me at the interview.
What I am asking is has anyone been on the waiting list and got employed? And also how long did it take.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hello,
Yes, me and a colleague were talking about how we got the job just the other day
She told me that she made it to interview stage, didn’t get the job as it went to someone younger and fitter and so got put on a list
About 2 months later she got the job as the other person didn’t stay long
The current situation in our office is that the agency workers that have been working for us since the strikes are being offered jobs
So they already know the job but if they accept the offer then they’ll actually be earning less per hour for doing the same job and won’t be able to take time off when they like as they currently do
The new contracts mean that new starters will always be on a lower wage than the current workforce (it’s one of the things we are currently fighting against because we don’t want a two tier workforce)
Many people in our office are having job interviews for other jobs and if the proposals go through for the later start finish times then many many more will be leaving
So I’d say you’ve got a good chance of being offered job
Just make sure you read the small print
Good luck
