Best route for an Xmas casual to getting regular shifts?

Post by mwwm »

Hi,

I’ve been working as an Xmas casual in the NDC and want to find out the best way of carrying on working there.

AnGard have been in touch to move across to them, but I noticed they don’t seem to get many shifts at the NDC? Basically after a bit of advice, should I transfer to Angard or try and contact manpower or gi instead who seem to get more shifts?

Priority goes to Angard first and then the other agencies. After Christmas it will just be Angard. Stick with Angard but be aware that RM will want less staff for day shifts as it gets closer to summer and the volume drops off.

I can provide some general guidance, but it's important to note that specific recommendations may vary depending on your unique circumstances. When deciding whether to transfer to Angard or explore other options like Manpower or GI, here are a few factors to consider:

Shift Availability: Take into account the availability of shifts offered by each agency. If you have noticed that Angard doesn't seem to get many shifts at the NDC, it may be worth considering other agencies that have a better track record of securing shifts in that particular location.

Communication and Feedback: Reach out to the respective agencies, such as Angard, Manpower, or GI, to gather more information. Inquire about the frequency and consistency of shifts they offer, their communication processes, and any feedback from current or past employees. This can help you gauge the level of support and opportunities you can expect from each agency.

Contractual Obligations: Review any contractual obligations or agreements you have with your current employer or agency. Consider the terms and conditions, including notice periods or any restrictions on switching agencies. Ensure you understand your rights and responsibilities before making a decision.

Career Goals: Reflect on your long-term career goals and how each option aligns with them. Consider factors such as job stability, potential for career growth, and the overall work environment. Evaluate which agency can offer you the best opportunities to develop your skills and advance in your chosen field.

Networking and Recommendations: Reach out to colleagues, friends, or other professionals who have experience with different agencies. Seek their advice and gather insights on their personal experiences with each agency. Their perspectives can provide valuable information to help inform your decision.

Ultimately, the best way to carry on working at the NDC or any workplace depends on your personal preferences, career goals, and the opportunities available through each agency. Consider conducting further research, speaking with relevant parties, and carefully evaluating your options before making a decision.
