1.30pm - 6.30pm Shifts

Post by stompstreets »

Hi

What is usually done between starting time of 1.30pm and finishing at 6.30pm? Is it mainly collections/parcels?

Thanks

Collections - although they don't usually recruit directly for that. That is usually fairly localised to one/two Post Codes

or

LAT - Late Access Tracking - basically delivering packages over a large geographical area that may cover a few different Delivery Offices.

If you are applying to a large Office it will probably be LATs.

Thanks for the reply.
I start a permanent position tomorrow covering these hours. The DO I'll be working from is a 2 post code depot so can I assume I'll be mainly responsible for collections then?

Any info much appreciated.

It will be "as directed"
If walks are failing you might be required to do that.
If parcels are failing it might be that.
Basically you might be covering whatever crap they can't cover on overtime.
From my experience collections are the easiest to cover but all offices are different.

Done a bit of checking and it seems it'll be mainly covering collections and parcels.
I'd be happy to do extra as well covering in the morning shifts as and when needed/directed.

It sounds like a good gig you've got as the role will be all van driving so no walking 20K+ each day pushing a trolley. If they send you out on collections make sure you have a training run with a regular beforehand and don't go out blind. If you haven't used the RON route finder make sure you''re also fully trained how to use the app by somebody who uses it already not just the DM showing you how to find the app on the PDA,
