Sammich wrote:Great thread, guys!

Just realised if I changed the language to US on my profile I am now on 'Waiting List - FL'. After reading some other threads, I believe the waiting list is an encouraging place to be and I'm over the moon as I previously believed I had been 'unsuccessful' and there was no other option.

One thing to note, I 'passed' my interview earlier this month, but I have had no emails in return to confirm the outcome of the interview itself - Is that common? Anyway, with that in mind I emailed myapplication@royalmail.com, but haven't had a reply, as of yet.

Lastly, I have seen a few other jobs come up near me and have applied as normal (sitting both online tests again).

Does anyone have any advice on how I could/should proceed? Should I be emailing 'myapplication@royalmail.com', when I apply for a new position being on the waiting list?

Wish you all well :)
I didn’t have any emails either regarding feedback from interview I just received the standard one to say I’d be unsuccessful but did pass the interview and would be placed on the 3 month waiting list.

I didn’t sit the tests I just ignored the email to complete them but I did email the my applications email address to let them know I had applied. Good luck :)
Hey! Thanks for the response!

Weird.. I've not received any email confirmations either way (successful or unsuccessful), and I've also kept on sitting the online tests.. I must have done them a dozen times

I'll keep plugging on - Thanks again :)
Hey,

It took them 19 days to let me know the outcome of my interview so they probably haven’t sent it yet. Best of luck but I wouldn’t keep doing the tests. Just apply and then email my application. Best of luck :)

Hi everyone. Im also on the waiting list after i passed the interview and since then i applied for one job that i was unsuccessful. About the tests i would say not to do them because they emailed me that i was unsuccessful before even the online assessments expire. The email I received was through the waiting list team so the knew about me be on the waiting list

Hi all

I’m in the same boat, i’m told i’m on the waiting list but no link on my email. I have applied for two jobs since and ignored the automated online test emails as instructed, both of these applications still say they are at the testing stage on my profile and have said that for about a week now, is that what your applications showed before you got a response?

Also, the email states that you can withdraw from the waiting list at any time on your profile but I can’t see anywhere on my profile where it says I am on the waiting list, could you see this on your profiles after you received your emails?

Thanks.

I would strongly recommend emailing Royal Mail if you apply from the waiting list for a new vacancy, just to make sure you are not overlooked. That's what happened to me, and it's down to sheer luck that I found out in time, and got a helpful response from recruitment.

Basically I got a 'you have been unsuccessful' email for not doing the online test. Luckily this was still a few days before the advertised interview date and when I queried it I got an apology for being overlooked, and the manager was contacted on my behalf to see if they would consider me. Plus, to improve my chances I turned up unannounced in person to introduce myself to the manager. And by-the-way, that manager said they were reluctant to accept waiting list candidates due to a previous bad experience. In the end I was offered the job (probably because it was the busiest time of year and they were desperate!) ... but before accepting the offer, just in case, for my piece of mind, I asked the recruitment person 'don't suppose my nearest branch might consider taking me on instead?'. They hadn't advertised for a few months, but thought no harm in asking, what with it being the busiest time of year. The recruitment person happily agreed that it was worth checking, and got back to me and I got offered a job there after 2 years of trying and not succeeding!

I gave you the same advice as guru`s wich is a good advice on this topic :https://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communi ... 63#p881063

You can withdraw your application from your profile here: https://career2.successfactors.eu/porta ... rDUcs%253d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But I don`t advice you to withdraw any application, just keep applying and email them with a link to the job you`ve applied for and remind them that you are on the waiting list.

Nice work, gnuru! Thanks both and for your earlier advice as well, Janet, that I have been following. It really is much appreciated.
