I expect different offices have different names for the same things! Being told to remember my "re-dies" was something else that confused me, it's the redirections! Obvious when you know.

No idea how long I'll be at RM to be honest, full retirement is 10+ years off and I can't see me lasting that long. Done over five years and it's taking its toll on my joints, don't underestimate walking 8+ miles a day.

Redirections for when your walks change? 8 miles a day is a lot, I can imagine that taking a toll. What can you see yourself doing if you don’t think you’ll be able to another 10+ years?

Redirections are when people move house. They can pay to have their mail redirected, the system then relies on the stressed out postie to pick out all their mail and put stickers on it with the new address - checking it is correct, especially if the redirection doesn't cover everyone at the address.

No idea what I'll do, but if things get too bad I may have to find out.

Okay, Makes sense now. What will I expect on my first day, I’ll be shadowing someone, learn a walk, get to grips with the sorting office? Hopefully it won’t come to that. Guessing you wouldn’t want to drop even more hours than you’re already on atm
