My security checks was done within a week. Think it was almost exactly a week from filling form online, to receiving a letter saying they were complete

I put this post up earlier this year. It was a timeline of my application. It may or may not be useful here

Hi all,
Been lurking in the background, for a few weeks now, so thought I’d share another timeline of recruitment. This one wasn’t as straight forward as many I’ve seen on here, which I’m sharing.

Jan 18th 2018 applied for 7 jobs at different D.Os

Jan 24th rejected for 3

Jan 30th got interview

Feb 8th
08.47am received an e-mail saying I’ve passed interview and begin filling information for security checks.

08.59 received email saying previous email was sent in error. Devastating. Placed onto 3 month priority list.

Feb 8th - 22nd applied for 8 jobs using the link for candidates on priority list. Received 2 further rejections

Feb 23rd received email saying to fill details for security checks. (Same as what was sent in error)
Also received step 5 email to fill details for driving license checks.

Feb 26th received email saying security checks have been submitted and to supply digital photo for ID

March 2nd (Friday evening) candidate profile status changes from checks to offer. Got to wait all weekend for more info.

March 5th step 8 email confirming job offer. Also to submit bank details, holidays booked and confirm induction.

March 26th will be induction

March 27th start at D.O

Just a bit of info to go with the above. I first applied mid January, but am starting at a DO I didn’t apply for till mid February.

I stated I have to give 2 weeks notice and start 3 weeks after offer.

In all I applied for 15 individual jobs at different DOs

2 positions were withdrawn, 12 were unsuccessful.

8 applications where made through the link for priority list candidates.

I can’t fault the communication with my royal mail. They usually took a day or 2 to get back in touch, but not once did I not receive an answer to an email.

I emailed my Royal Mail for varying reasons approx 20 times.

Hope this gives some encouragement to anyone waiting. It is a long process, but patience goes a long way. ( I’m not patient hence 20 odd emails sent to them)

Wow your security checks went through very fast I had an email on the 16th of April saying clingy you were being put forifor security checks and as of this day I’m still waiting to hear back. My checks were completed on 9th May and I received my letter on the 12th altho Royal Mail said on the 14th they haven’t received anything and I’m still waiting to hear back now. It’s so hard waiting especially when you are being made redundant and your days left in work are just ticking by and u really really really want to be a postie

I’m in my 13th month at RM and I STILL have no ID badge or had the driving assessment. Unbelievable. However, I do quite like the job but my colleagues really make it!
