QUADRANT PAY CLAIM & BALLOT ARRANGEMENTS

Dear Colleagues

Branches will be aware that the department has been in negotiation with the business in respect of the 2015/16 pay review for our Quadrant members.

We are pleased to announce that our discussions have now concluded and a no strings straightforward 2 year agreement has been negotiated to cover the periods commencing 1st October 2015/16 and 1st October 2016/17. The agreement provides a significantly above inflation increase in year one and is projected to keep pace with inflation across the two years. The deal provides for a 2% exit rate for each of the years concerned, which we believe finds the right balance between the pressures on the business and the need to reward our Quadrant members for their continuing dedication and service. For information RPI was at 0.7% in October 2015 and is projected to be in the range of 2% to 2.3% in October 2016.

Below for your information are details of the agreement that has been achieved and endorsed as worthy of recommendation to our members by the Postal Executive:

THE QUADRANT PAY & REWARD AGREEMENT 2015/16 and 2016/17

An uplift of 1.1% effective 1st October 2015.
A further uplift of 0.9% effective 1st April 2016 (not compounded)
A further uplift of 1.0% effective 1st October 2016
A further uplift of 1.0% effective 1st April 2017 (not compounded)
The above increases apply to all elements of pay.

The next pay review will be 1st October 2017.

Branches are informed that the arrangements for an individual member’s ballot in respect of the Quadrant Pay 2015/16 & 2016/17 agreement have now been finalised with the SDG(S) department and the timetable will be as follows:

Ballot Papers Dispatched: Friday, 20th May 2016

Ballot Closes: Friday, 3rd June 2016

Branch Secretaries are requested to ensure that our members are made aware of the content of this LTB and that every effort is made to encourage our members to use their vote.

Any enquiries in relation to this LTB should be addressed to Davie Robertson, Assistant Secretary, email: dwyatt@cwu.org or shayman@cwu.org quoting reference number: 301.04

Yours sincerely

Davie Robertson

Assistant Secretary
