Quadrant Pay 2013 Ballot Result
Reproduced below for the information of Branches is the result of the above ballot which has been received from Tony Kearns, Senior Deputy General Secretary:
Ballot Papers Issued 468
Votes for Acceptance 246
Votes Against 1
Spoils 0
Therefore the ballot has resulted in a return of approximately 53% with 99% voting in favour of the agreement.
Branches are requested to ensure that members are made aware of the result of this ballot.

It's the rather implausible idea that almost half couldn't even be arsed returning it but out of the 247 who could be arsed...246 voted yes.
A statistician would tell you...that's iffy.
A low return rate points to an acceptance but it also points to a less than enthusiastic response which would lead you to expect at least a 10-15% rejection rate but 1?.
One member out of 468 didn't like it enough to vote no?
Even the law of averages would throw up a couple of members who accidentally ticked the wrong box...and 0 spoils?
Unless there were other factors involved.
