AWR/Higher rate

Post by Irshaadnawaz »

So, I've been with angard for over two years and now it's getting confusing.

The last time I worked was the 19 June. I am due to return from my holiday mid August.

I've placed 4 holiday hours on the 25th of July.

Will i lose my AWR qualification?

I got this email from them guys. Don't really get it

Good morning,

As your last shift was for W/e 16/06, the gap of employment currently stands at 3 weeks. If you were still out of work by the 25th July, the gap would stand at 5 weeks.

Booking a holiday would not get rid of this gap completely, it would not include the week of holiday booked in the gap.

For example, if you did not book holiday for 25/07, and it was now 31/07, the gap would stand at 6 weeks and your AWR rate would be lost.

However if you did book holiday for this week, the gap would be 5 weeks and you would have an extra weeks to secure a shift.

Appreciate the help!

if i have read your post correctly then you will lose your awr unfortunately as the 4 hours only pauses it for 1 week it doesnt reset bk to zero so the 6 week rule will set in as from 16th june to mid august is well over 7 weeks

If your last shift was on 19/6 how can they say your last shift was for w/e 16/6? It should be w/e 25/6 with the new payroll cycle w/e on a Sunday. So you only have a two week break currently not three so query that with them but booking holiday only on 25/7 wouldn't help if being off to mid August and you'd have no leeway if you didn't get a shift your first week back.

If you have enough holiday book 4 hours on as many of the weeks as you can between now and when you get back. As toonlad2 said, it only pauses the six weeks and you can't backdate holiday anymore so you might as well give yourself a safety net for when you get back in case you don't get any shifts immediately.
