Christmas Casuals Checks

Post by missi76 »

Hi all :chuckle

I am attending a registration event next week for casual mail sorter position and wanted to ask if anyone knows how long the security checks take before being able to start work (if I am offered a shift that is :confused )
Also do the security checks includes financial checks or just the standard convictions checks?

Interview confirmation for registration event received on the 10/10/2014,
Registartion event scheduled for 30 mins on the 16/10/2014,
1st stage of assesment passed with confirmation email on 23/10/2014,
Confirmation of role and start date email received on 30/10/2014,

As for second query concerning security checks , here is an excerpt from the faqs http://www.royalmailgroup.com/sites/de ... rn false;

OFFERED A POSITON / AWAITING START

What is a security vetting check?
The check is in two parts

Stage 1 is a check against a register of debarred individuals
who have previously worked for Royal Mail and a check against our Recruitment Risk
Register to check for individuals who have committed a crime against Royal Mail. Stage 2
is a basic disclosure check for unspent criminal conviction/s and is completed by a supplier
of Royal Mail.

What will happen if I fail my security vetting check?

You will be contacted by a member of the Royal Mail Christmas Recruitment Team and
advised that your position and start date offered at the Registration Event has been
withdrawn. This will be by email and it is important that you continue to log onto your
account to check your application status
