Christmas Casual 2015
Am I the first/only person to be having problems with applying this year. First, there is a new system, so you have to create a new account/profile etc. I tried using the old link, but it doesn't recognise xmas casuals for this year. Anyway, I started off at the beginning & applied for a job this year. The outhouse where I worked last year has closed, so I applied for the main MC. I completed everything & clicked apply. I double checked by going back into my account to check status & it says Unsuccessful! I then looked at my email account & RM have sent me an email stating "We cannot progress with your application this time as you didn't reach meet our minimum criteria"!!! So I returned to "my profile" & clicked on "view/edit" application & it states "Failed to process job application" Why is nothing ever straight forward with RM?

I can't even get onto the Royal Mail web site. Does anyone have the phone no for HR in Sheffield? Thanks

Re: Christmas Casual 2015
Plan B. Reapplied using different email address. Once your first application is rejected, you cannot edit anything, so cannot rectify mistakes. I thought that my mistake was leaving a gap in my 5 year work history, so I triple checked it & made sure that there were no gaps. I have saved everything that needs to be saved before clicking apply BUT still my application has been rejected. The telephone number given is a general number & not one for Christmas Casuals. HELP PLEASE!
UPDATE Friend of mine has also had the same thing happen to her- so can't be my mistake.
Was given a number to phone, but it's a recorded message & you get cut off at the end of it

Yes as a former Christmas casual I went onto my Royal Mail Page login only to find my email and passwood was not accepted.Britvic55 wrote:Am I the first/only person to be having problems with applying this year. I also noticed that the links for on left hand side for archive "Previous Applications" and "My Email" history" were no longer there.
Last year it was simple all I had to do was update the last year of my Employment history and all the historical information and personel data was intact and all came up entering National Insurance number so the application took a matter of minutes.
Today has meant starting from scratch entering email and passwood and having to complete all the fields which was time consuming working out all the start and end dates over the past 5 years.
After a few fields missed and then completed form it did allow me to SAVE and Apply and have received an auto reply confirmation email.
When you click this link https://rmg.i-grasp.com/fe/tpl_royalmail01.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it states:
On 23 March 2015 we launched our new recruitment system and as such we will not be using this page to advertise roles.
Please visit RoyalMailGroup.com to explore our exciting career opportunities.
The jobs pages on this website are hosted by SuccessFactors on behalf of Royal Mail Group Ltd.
I have to say I have never heard on SuccessFactors before. I hope it doesn't mean anything like the problems encountered as a Xmas casual applying with and working under Angard in 2011. I never received any of their emails and it took until Easter the following year to get my pay sorted out. It's an experience I never want to go through again. The last three years applying through and working with Royal Mail was a seemless, busy and enjoyable time and I appreciated the work.

Sorry can't see that!
I visited http://www.royalmailgroup.com/xmasjobs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, selected job & created new profile etc.
On visiting the site again & applying for a different job, the profile is not complete..... & YES I did save everything!
This has also happened to one of my friends, so it can't be a mistake by me. Now the site keeps crashing!
It was so much simpler before!

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any available for Glasgow yet which is a surprise given how many people they employ.

Re: Christmas Casual 2015
Search using the postcode G21 1AA, the jobs are advertised but don't show up if you search under Glasgow! The new RM jobs site search function is next to useless unless the vacancy has been properly tagged. The loss of searching by postcode and distance doesn't help either.MasterD wrote:Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any available for Glasgow yet which is a surprise given how many people they employ.

Third time lucky! Chose yet another email address. Quadruple checked this time! The help line seems to have a new option 2- if your application has been rejected. Site doesn't seem to be so busy today, hasn't crashed/frozen once! So good luck

Mine is on "Application Recieved". Anyone know when they'll be sending out the dates for the inductions?

Re: Christmas Casual 2015
Registration events take place throughout October, in my experience. If you've been selected - &, if you've completed the online application correctly, you almost certainly will be – they'll contact you in late September.ianstewart wrote:Mine is on "Application Recieved". ps. That's going on past experience. They may have given the application process a complete overhaul, as they appear to have brought in an external recruiter, unless SuccessFactors are only responsible for processing the initial application.

Re: Christmas Casual 2015
If you work for - or are registered with, IIRC - Angard you can't apply to be an Xmas casual.Leeuk wrote:I'm getting the same reply "We cannot progress with your application this time as you didn't reach meet our minimum criteria" i've tried three times. Can you still apply if your working for angard?

Re: Christmas Casual 2015
I have had the same "we cannot process you're application at this time because you have not met the minimum criteria". Having been a Christmas Casual last year I am quite confused on how I have not met the minimum criteria, and I don't really know who to talk to about this. I believe I have fillled it all out correctly on the website with the new profile system. Can anyone offer any help or advice? Thanks
