Will I be kept on after christmas? when will I be let go?
Says on my welcome letter that my last day of work is the 24th of dec? I'm guessing the chances of becoming permanent are probably zero though?

yeah, your only option is to apply for whatever jobs come up around the building that are "permanent" but you'll be treated as any other applicant
apparantly some managers have been telling people if they work overtime they have a chance at a job. pretty certain that's bullshit though (the job, the managers chat is to be expected)

Just been told that my last day will be tomorrow

No chance in hell of a job...you may get transferred to Angard where you'll duke it out with 60 other people for 5/10 shifts lol

In the MC I work in, you had to ask to get your name put on a list for internal angard transfer, then they supposedly offer you more shifts in your area sometime. that's what ive heard.
To get kept on after Christmas you had to go onto some other sheet being brought around by the workplace coach, then this sheet comes back round and the workplace coach tells you your hours. This happened to me, but I was put on different hours then I had asked for.
This week (after xmas) the manager on duty didn't know when i was supposed to be in when I called today because I wasn't on his hours list, despite signing up for it, but then he said that loads of people who were supposed to be in this week who hadn't been told when they were supposed to be in, so they probably wouldn't turn up, and that I should call in on the morning I need to start work. Its a mess really.
There is also some sort of staff hours number I was given by the workplace coach to call in the mornings, but the duty manager did not give this number, he seems to intend for me to call his office (which is staffed my many different people). I will call the other number in the morning im supposed to start again and see what they have.
The thing about staying on after Christmas in your MC seems to be tenacity. Make sure you speak to other people about their arrangements and hours sheets ect, and call in asking for work, and come in if they don't tell you not to.
But you will need to get transferred to angard. I think you might be able to transfer yourself online, but my MC said they would handle it. Anyway I have been transferred to angard and am applying to another job on their site, as a casual resource.
