Christmas Casual

Post by Albeniz »

Hello

I'm due to start working nightshift this Sunday as a christmas casual at my local royal mail sorting office. However, yesterday I lost my glasses I wear for short-sightedness. I'm going to order a new pair today but they won't be ready til the middle of next week so I'm wondering if this will hamper me for starting work?

What does the work actually involve? If it's checking stuff close up then I should be fine but I'm worried if I need to make out signs or addresses etc from long distance it could affect me.

Cheers in advance if anyone can give me a description of the general duties?

Depends - can you read the addresses on the letters you get now. If so it won't be a problem, as a causal there won't be much detailed work beyond reading addresses on letters and packets, and moving sorted (or post to be sorted) post from one area to another, and then the signs are usually pretty big.
