Shifts cancelled for the week

I had a shift booked for Friday but just received a message from Angard saying all shifts for this week have been cancelled due to a reduction in workload. Is this because the RM christmas cover has started now? I am at uni so it is only part time for me but must be a nightmare for others who are relying on shifts to pay the bills! This is at the Glasgow Service Centre.
