Glasgow MC - Shift Availability.

Post by iturner »

Hi there,

I just received my badge and returned the signed copy of my zero hours contract to Angard last week.
Up until the 15/01/2014 (before I signed the contract), I was receiving regular texts stating there were shifts available at GMC. Since then, however, I have received nothing.
Is it simply the case that there is currently no work available or is there possibly another reason I am no longer receiving texts?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It went quiet (in general - can't speak for your area in particular) this time last year as well, nothing sinister in it. Texts go out to everyone in the locality of the Mail Centres.

By the way not at Glasgow however..
Signed up before Christmas at my MC got no shifts till the 13th/14th of this month (both 8hrs). Last week was 25 hours, I was given more but they were canceled. (did try before Christmas to get a shift however I was told no shifts were available).

To be honest really hope the hours increase, can't seem to get another job to subsidize my earnings at present. Only jobs around are cold storage which I can't do due to health reasons.
