Angard

Post by biscuit1957 »

My son who is unemployed registered with Angard as a temp worker,he received a phone call today but could not answer as he was in the shower.
The voice mail was offering him work tonight in the Mail Centre, when he phoned them back for the details, he was told that as he didn't answer his phone they have gave the job to someone else.I know Angard is part owned by Royal Mail, but the permanent staff at Angard should be made to follow rules and if they don't they should be taken down the conduct code road, all they are, are jumped up little Hitlers

If your not at the factory gates you don't get picked.

I was fed up having to take the phone into the loo, to bed, even risking the fine for using a mobile in the car because I knew that if I missed that call I missed a shift. Its as simple as that...............

Angard/RM couldn't care less who you are. Your just a body.

That is what did it for me in the end. I dip into this site as I enjoy seeing the same crap time after time...no lessons learnt whatsoever.

My best advise...work elsewhere.

Angard aren't exactly known for being considerate. It was bad enough whenever they did the "text race"

Angard is wholly owned by Royal Mail - nobody else owns any part of it. Reed manage/mismanage it on behalf of Royal Mail.

Not sure what rules you think Angard should be working to. Would be great if they had a code of conduct but they don't seem to.

They are only interested in getting bodies into the places of work and don't care who they get.

I have never received a voicemail from Angard - they have never ever left me one. If you miss the call you have to guess it was them (the numbers are always hidden/unavailable) and call them very quickly after the call. Basically, if you miss the call they move onto the next person on the list and if that persons takes the work, as far as Angard are concerned that is their job done.

They should be reported to the office of fair trading, why arnt the union getting involved? the union don't seem to be doing anything,ie bullying false employment sounds like to me if they were we would be on permanent strike,

Two Christmas's ago when Angard failed to pay some casuals for months, in some cases casuals did not get paid until June, they even refused to speak to ACAS.

Angard seemed to only pay some people, after the people threatened Industrial Tribunal, even then I understand some had to go to Tribunal to get paid.

The union appear to have had very little impact trying to resolve issues for CWU Angard members. They didn't seem to help getting people paid the first Christmas - an ideal opportunity to help and recruit new members. They were and are not concerned about illegal aspects (rules/regulations) within the Royal Mail handbook for Angard staff, which are still there 2 years later.

NO I wrote BLUE TOOTH! The other part is somebody else's quote! When I am driving I don't have an attachment on my ear! It's a device fitted in the car, in my car it's on the visor!
