After doing my first weeks work at Stockport MDEC I was paid the grand sum of £60. This was for doing a 20 hour week at £6.19 her hour. Apparently we are not paid for the first 45 minutes on induction. What a cheek.
I sent my P45 off to Angard before I even started work on the monday. 3 weeks later and I have received 2 weeks pay on emergency tax. They still haven't bothered to process my P45. This work is only for a few weeks and they must realise that emergency taxing people will swallow most of their pay.
I worked out that I was working for a little over £2 an hour after taking into account my travel. I didn't bother to turn in for work the following week and they had the cheek to phone me and ask me why. Some companies really treat their staff like crap. Even the manager of Stockport MDEC was agressive and rude when talking to us. What a welcome when your are told on your first day that you will get a bad reference if you do anything wrong. The guy just didn't know how to speak to people.
I am glad to leave the dreadful place. The single most soul destroying work I have ever done, and all for a pittance. Amateurs!

Peterborough Outhouse is dreadful this year.
In no order, the manager blocked my car in, and didn't even apologise, he did move his car, but a "sorry" would have been nice.
going away from management, I dont know where they got half the staff, there was certainly not a very high bar, when it came to who they would and would not employ. The break away is generally a rubbish tip, whilst the gents loos have been blocked twice to my knowledge. Meanwhile coming in today (Friday) there the shift before me was given a talk about drug taking at work, giving that evidence had been found of people doing so.
Saying that alot of the managers are generally ok, one of my fellow 9 to 5ers was able to move his shift to 6am - 2pm, so he could visit the hospital, and I was allowed to do 10am - 6pm, at short notice so I could attend a Royal Mail, Postman Interview (didnt get it)
A more general note, plenty of lazy types around, who dont do a whole lot.
It was so much better last year.
