Xmas casuals Sent home early
I have been working at Sun Street office in Wolverhampton. We have been sent home early 3 times in less than a week and today when I got there told to go home as there was nothing on? Is it like this every xmas with the Royal mail or is it just particularly slow this year? Also I feel sorry for the people turning up who have to travel more than an hour away as its just not worth there while.

They never guarantee work to casuals - indeed probably do not guarantee "extra" work to permanents. You have to hope the work picks up otherwise you appear know what happens.

From a Permanentee point of view it does seem fairly quiet for a Christmas - but they may be because there is still 2 full weeks to go - from Wednesday I am expecting it too pick up big time till about Wednesday/Thursday next week.

Re: Xmas casuals Sent home early
Ye actually to be fair they said they will give us four hours pay for the Monday so I'm pretty happy now done more hours this week and most the permanent staff seem pretty friendly considering the current job climate.
