Starting time for induction?

Hi, wondering if anyone could shed some light - my friend and I are both due to start night shifts at the Bathgate packet sort centre on Monday night. She says that she's been told to turn up at 9PM, however I can't find anything in my paperwork to say this. Last year when I did the same shifts it was always 10PM.

Anyone know anything?

It might be because your friend has accepted an offer to do 9pm - 6am Nights instead of the normal 10pm - 6am? As this Nights option was offered as an alternative as well as the standard 10pm - 6am Nights at my registration event for the mail centre I'm going to work at. People who chose this alternative will just start an hour early each night. If your letter says 10pm I would just turn up ready for 10pm.

As far as I know she's doing the 10-6 shift (said the 9PM start is the first shift only)

I'm going to assume I start at 10. She'll have to find her own lift in that night if the's going in for 9 lol

Doing my third year starting next week,as before I was told induction will be at 6am on my first shift,however on the previous two occasions I received a phone call to go in for induction during the day about four or five days before my contract actually started.

Think we are on the same shift at Bathgate i was told also 9pm for induction then normal 10pm-6am

Was also told they have no canteen area or cooking facilities no even a kettle lol and to take a flask and warm clothing.... sure it was Bathgate on the paperwork not Alaska!!

Ahh OK Grizzle, I have no idea now then lol.

Last year there was an area with tables and chairs, a kettle, toaster, microwave and couple of fridges. And lockers (but nowhere near enough ) It wasn't actually all that cold in there either.

We'll see what we end up with this time heheh

Any idea what we will be doing last time i done the xmas casual was in 1999 at the Glasgow mail centre and it was unloading trucks of the bags of mail, just recently quit being self employed and need something over xmas.
