Not recieved welcome pack
Hello,
A few weeks ago I received an email regarding my, confirming my offer of a Christmas Casual at the Truro mail centre And stated my start date and time.
However later in the email it also said that a Welcome pack would be in the post shortly, I received that email on the 23rd October, and I have still not received a Welcome Pack. I have tried emailing the Royal Mail Christmas helpline, and have only got an automated reply.
Does it normally take this long for a welcome pack to arrive?

Re: Not recieved welcome pack
I'm @ Truro. the "Welcome Pack" came a few weeks ago. It is basically a 7 page letter, including a P46, I handed mine in @ Alverton & confirmation of personal info, bank details etc etc. Don't panic, there is nothing in it that will prevent you from starting the job, if you don't have it. No doubt it WILL come! I am meant to be starting on 26th, but this is later than other years, so some people may be invited to start this coming week. See you there!

Thanks for the reply. I noticed yesterday that my application status is now Hired and Start date agreed, and the previous day it was Processing Offer, maybe this was why I hadn't received it yet. I am starting on 4th December.

Dear Marky,
Firstly let me apologise on behalf of Royal Mail. We are extremely sorry that that you have not yet received your Welcome Pack.
I can assure you that it was posted out on time, it's probably being held up in the Bristol Mail Centre by those nasty men and women who are not 'toeing the line'. Rest assured it will get to you by Xmas Day, when you'll be falling asleep over your turkey dinner, when it will be as much use to you then as it is now.
Oh, and please stop emailing me at the Royal Mail Christmas helpline. I'm awfully busy at this time of year don't cha' know ?
Hugs'n'Love

Re: Not recieved welcome pack
Your contract should have an indication of both start and end dates but these can change.ball wrote:dose any one know when the christmas contract ends i start at strood kent tomorrow
Normally the end time is probably Christmas Eve (with this being a Monday likely to be the Saturday/Sunday before) but for some it will be earlier and for some it will be later than in the contract. All depends on the needs at the RM place you work at.

Re: Not recieved welcome pack
Glad to see that you have not lost your sense of humour! So many posties who have been in the job for too long have, especially those in management! Funny you mention Bristol, , no doubt when we do start, dealing with some of Bristol's sh1t along with DSA, will be the first jobs that the casuals will be doing! But by the time Marky starts, we should have sorted it!Pinky 1 wrote:Dear Marky,

Yes
What happens, induction and training followed by a Group singalong of the Company song - something to do with WCM and a Japanese professor.

Re: Not recieved welcome pack
Induction and training depend on so many factors its impossible to say with certainty. It could be a few minutes of showing you the fire exits or 6hours of form filling and H&S briefs, it also depends on how busy the unit is.ball wrote:our long is indduction and training and are you jokeing about the singalong
Yes I was joking about the singalong
