Hi,
Despite numerous emails to Angard Recruitment and calls to the Angard Telephone line that do not get answered, I'm still unsure as to the state of my application for a Christmas 2012 Casual.
An email was received within the Royal Mail Jobs portal as long ago as 30 August 2012, stating 'Application Confirmation .... Well done! You have reached the next stage of your application, we would now like to invite you to take an on-line assessment which should be completed within 24 hours of receiving this email"
Thus, i completed the online tests within the 24 hour period and can see within the Royal Mail portal "....TalentQ Aspects Delivery..... Test completed 30 August 2012" also "TalentQ ELC ...... Test completed 30 August 2012".
So, what next? Will i be invited for an interview or? Surely if I haven't been selected for an Interview, i would have been informed by now?
Anyone else experienced this? Christmas is nearing fast!

Angard are not doing xmas this year,RM are.
I don't think there is much of a way to contact RM's job people.
The whole process is shite, shabby, and an embarrassment.
Sorry mate, maybe someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Are you sure you have applied for Christmas casual with Royal Mail because those jobs were not supposed to come available until 5th September but you took the test in August. You may have applied for regular casual with Angard.

You may be right re the Regular Casual rather than Xmas Casual. But I received an email reply from Angard Staffing (Northants) [Angard.Employee@reedglobal.com] on 9.10.2012 in which Angard confirmed that they have received my completed application. They went on to say that "...You will be contacted for a telephone interview as soon as we have a document checking session available in the area. We try to hold the sessions every 2 weeks and fill the sessions from oldest application to most recent........"I will forward your email over to my colleagues who deal with this area and ask them to contact you when there is a session available..."
But another month on and no more news! nb Trying the number that was on the email for Angard Staffing : 0845 460 7318 just gives you 2 options : 1/ Pay queries or worker with any other queries or 2/ royal mail managers (neither of which applies to me - ie as still in application process). Though tried option 1 but it just rings out ...

Re: Application Confirmation & Tests Completed
Hurrah! Finally got through to a very pleasant and apologetic Lady at Angard.
Apparently my application is still live - but the 'job' i applied for wasn't actually a job. In fact it was a recruitment drive 'of sorts' to get Casual Workers on their books, ie ready for when (if) there is a need in the area i applied. The fictitious "position" of 'Casual Delivery Person' (with an ANGxxxxxx reference) just happened to be advertised just before the xmas casuals.
So, because of this application, looks like i've missed out on the Xmas recruitment...
Oh well - maybe something will turn up. JB

The Christmas casuals are supplementing both Royal Mail permanent staff and the Angard casual staff. As an Angard casual you maybe able to get into a DO or MC for the Christmas period via Angard - cannot hurt to ask.Jayb wrote:Hurrah!
