Hi,
Today, i have received an email notification from Royal mail to attend for a registration event.
I am bit confused after receiving this email. I was also talking to some of my friends who applied and joined for these positions. Even they had received the same email.
The next stage is for you to attend a face-to-face discussion at a registration event. Please read all of this e-mail carefully as it gives you vital instructions to support you at the event.
IMPORTANT – WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO YOUR REGISTRATION SESSION
REMEMBER – If you do not bring the required documents, you will be turned away from the event and we will be unable to process your application.
Step 8 – Finally, book yourself onto a registration event.
Follow the link below and log onto your application you will see all the available dates and times so you can book your event on-line yourself.
Please be aware that we have filled the current vacancies and if successful at the registration event you would be placed on a waiting list for any vacancies which may arise.
There is no guarantee that you will receive a job offer.
I was confused with the red highlighted wording. When they have filled the current vacancies, whats the point in calling for the registration?
Please can any one advise whether is it a default email for casuals or is a waste of my time to attend for this event.
Based on responses, i will decide whether to go for registration or ignore this email.

Re: Invitation for a registration event
It maybe useful to know whereabouts in the country your are. Someone may know something more substantial if they knew your location.
My thoughts are:
The people they have "hired" will not yet be aware of the fact and may not find out. Some will find alternative work, some may fail the secuity checks, some will simply not turn up - suspect they effectively create a reserve list.
