I had a job offer , but only got given 10-6 is their any chance I could swap this till 10-6 nights does any one know ?

10-6 is normally night shift. Very few people will finish at 6pm - if any.

Shifts are normally
0600 to 1400
1400 to 2200
2200 to 0600
1800 to 2200

There are minor variations on these dependent upon the needs of the MC. You sure your 10-6 is not the night shift?

Hi newbie here, went for registration a couple of weeks ago to be told all posts filled and will be on standby. Have now heard back, start on 27 November, with induction on 5 November, got the 0630 to 1430 shift. This is at Wolverhampton Mail Centre.

Check whether they mean am to pm and not pm to am - they are prone to error. What did you request at interview? It is an unusual shift - one I never heard of where I work.

Also check the function 10am - 6pm could be a Hybrid collection/delivery duty which Royal Mail seem to be bringing in. However as a caveat I would be surprised if they used a Casual in this role.

I attended also attended an interview day wanting Nights, they did verbaly reffer to it 10-6 like you say, which threw me a bit at first as I was expecting 24 hour clock times. They even verbaly offerd me 9-6 which I accepted instead and got an unconditional offer on the spot. I think you have been given Nights same as me though you will start an hour later at the usual 10pm.

I was given a single sheet of paper by way of acceptance at the interview which was already pre printed with all the relevent Night shift times / days. They just signed it at the bottom and wrote my name on the top. It was clearly prepared for anyone who got an offer for Nights 9-6 starting one hour early, they also had seperate ones prepared for Nights 10-6.

I'm not shure if you were handed the same standard preprepared form but if you were about half way down there is a box, though mine already had Duty Time Monday -Friday: 2100-0600 pre printed in it, the line below says Pay Rate £6.70 which is the adult nights rate. I think you actualy have Nights 10pm - 0600am like you wished
