Dress code for Interview

I was wondering if anyone could give me info on expected dress code. I was going to go in jeans and a black shirt. Unfortunately I do not have smart shoes or trousers :/

That would be fine m8,,some ware suits,,some go casual,, and some go like they dont give a F##k. whatever you feel comfortable in will be ok.

I went in a pair of black jeans and a shirt.

You could go in a potato sack and be fine, you're not dressing to impress like a normal interview so don't worry about it. I remember the first year I went to the interview I wore smart trousers and shoes with a shirt and tie, when I walked in it was full of people in jeans and tracksuits.

I had jeans and kept my coat on, room had about 30 people in and only one person wore a suit, most were in normal clothes or jeans and a shirt.

yes when I went to the interview in 2011, there was a bloke with a proper suit on, big folder, clearly expecting a different kind of interview.

TBH I think it shows that he didn't know what he was walking into, and doesn't know the job.

Might be the same guy i saw lol, he had a suit and also a shiny folder that had his CV in and other bits, he forgot to bring his application print out along with a few others and had to wait since they had another guy doing the print outs for those who forgot to bring them.

not sure where you are torchwood (I do use something very similar to that name on other websites) , but I suspect my guy knew what he was doing. Your guy sounds like a pretender, told what to do and wear, but in the end makes the mistakes which renders everything else pointless.

I just see people who have done high level jobs, applying for low level ones, in suits all the time, and wonder how much they actually know about the job.

Peterborough Outhouse again for me this year, so I can wear pretty much whatever I want.
