I have been asked what shift I want towork but not been given confirmaton that I have got thse shifts nor when they start. Other casuals at my MC have also been asked the shift they want. I am aware of one person who has been made aware of when the Christmas shifts start but unsure if they have been confrmed.

Manager booked me & another worker in with Angard directly for the Xmas Period. Angard also sent us both an email to confirm that we've booked in for that period.

I haven't heard anything...and I sent them an email a few weeks ago enquiring if there was xmas work for us, since we were politely asked not to apply for xmas casuals. No work for 3 weeks now - suddenly went quiet. Maybe it depends on the areas we're based...and they haven't got to us lot yet?

Same here 3 weeks and not a call and no work. I have been told that there will be packet sorting at Canterbury MC this Christmas and already interviews are/have taken place........yet nothing from Angard.

It it that as we qualify for AWR we are "to expensive" and are being deliberately overlooked in favor of cheaper labour?? Just a thought.

Email sent 2 weeks ago and I have not heard anything. November 1st next week! Whats going on?

All I see on this forum are countless people being interviewed, going for security checks. I guess venues are hired for these events, CRB checks cost etc etc. Why are RM/Angard ignoring a pool of resource they already have on their books?

Is it that we are now "to expensive" because of AWR? If it is then my MP will be be informed!

I don't think so as DOM in our place says he only wants those with experience. He gets casuals from Angard turn up one day for some on the job training, never to be seen again.
Says Christmas delivery is out of comfort zone for 99% of those sent to him by Angard.
If I'm "too expensive" because of AWR I can't see they would be upping my hours further. I already work more hours than most full-time RM staff.
