OUTRAGED Royal Mail temporary workers say some of them have yet to be paid wages from before Christmas.
Among those who contacted the Adver was Sean Baxter, 18, of Gorse Hill, who worked at the Dorcan site as a team leader for three weeks.
He was due to get his last pay-packet on December 30, but was paid just one penny.
He said: “I should have been paid my final wage pack and bonus, totalling £460, but received nothing but one penny.
“I checked again last Friday and rang the agency Angard five times throughout that day. My father then phoned for me, as I was getting rather stressed out as I owe people rent and, with no money in my account, the bank was adding further charges for failing to pay my overdraft.
“I was planning on using my wages to have a brilliant Christmas and New Year with friends and family, but, after receiving a small amount and having bills to pay, my Christmas and New Year was ruined.”
Royal Mail spokesman Nick Martens said: “The overwhelming majority of our temporary Christmas workers have been paid on time. We are committed to resolving any out-standing pay issues as quickly as possible. We apologise if any indiv-idual has experienced difficulties".
