I am just about to finish my contract with Angard, on Friday 23rd december, The post office has asked me to work from Tuesday onwards the 27th, which is a bank holiday, Angard are offering to pay me the minimum rate of £6-08p. For working this shift, alongside other agency employees that are on a much higher rate for doing the same job. I will politely decline. I think Angard need to get its act together, and treat people as government legistation states. All agency employees regardless of who they work for are entitled to the same rate of payment. This is stated clearly in the. 2008 employment. Act. It is such a shame as the regular post office staff are such an excellent crowd to work with. I work at the. Chester. Sorting office.

I thought bank holidays were paid at the premium rate we get for Sunday (not much of a premium mind and varies between mail centres/depots/sorting offices).Gbw wrote:I am just about to finish my contract with Angard, on Friday 23rd december, The post office has asked me to work from Tuesday onwards the 27th, which is a bank holiday, Angard are offering to pay me the minimum rate of £6-08p.
