Contracts Ending?
When do our contracts officially end? I've heard its on the 24th? But is that just a rumour or official?

Re: Contracts Ending?
Well Stoke MDEC finished today, 3 days early due to lack of work. So apparently they can finish you whenever.

Re: Contracts Ending?
It will depend on your offer/agreement plus if there is enough work. Some may get extended.Lillybet89 wrote:When do our contracts officially end? I've heard its on the 24th? But is that just a rumour or official?

They say Monday and Tuesday are the buiest days but it was so quiet hardly had any work to do. I won't be surprised if they send us home before the 23rd.

Re: Contracts Ending?
My DO manager seems to think I'm staying as long as there is work, which there is. I'd be happy to stay, but there will have to be an RM contract in sight - I'm not working under Angard T&Cs for ever!

Re: Contracts Ending?
I guess not post watcher, but who the hell wants to work Xmas Eve anyway!!!! Was a bit of a mess today tbh, no one really knew what to do with us all. It got even worse when the 2-10 shift turned up, we fought over amazon 1c and was sent home early.... Depending on which manager we believe we could be sent home early tomorrow or friday.... I would prefer friday as I dont at all mind looking busy all day, though I would prefer to be busy.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Contracts Ending?
Heard a lot of Casuals are being kept on at my MC, another 4 weeks was mentioned.
As for things winding down, not in deliveries it is'nt. Parcels seem to be easing off but we've managers from all over delivering them and even the DSM is in delivering them from his car. s**t loads of xmas cards on IPS that the new all singing dancing super duper WSM's spit out, don't you just love expensive technology! The old bundling machines would've read most of that stuff.
