Sunday Night Shift Rates

Can someone clarify what Angard's policy is regarding these?

I, along with everyone else I spoke to, believed that when it stated 'Sunday 10-6' in the payrates, it meant 10pm Sunday night through to 6pm monday morning. Imo, that would be the most reasonable assumption most people would make based on the fact the pay chart rates were reflecting the 3 'standard' shifts that most people worked, and the tendancy you have to read them chronologically

Now however, i'm hearing noises that the Sunday rate only applies for 2 hours from 10pm to midnight on monday morning, with the remaining 5.5/6 hours only being at weekday nightshift rates. Is that right?

If so, that's pretty sneaky and deliberately misleading. It would also mean you would be paid less for working Sunday nightshift than you would for the day or backshift.

Can anyone advise?

we checked this straight away with our angard representatives - they checked and came back to us and said that sunday rates applies to the full shift 10 - 6 BUT if you work past 6am .. THEN it goes on to standard week rate? .. OT just doesnt exsited with these guys does it!?

Any night that you work past 6 am goes on to day rate thereafter. My shift was moved to 10.15 to 6.15 without consultation or warning that we would be dropping from 8.11 to 6.35 for the last 15 minutes. Also the holiday pay is at 6.35 even if your "contract" is to only work nights. The job that I've got instead of angard is still as a temp but I get my holiday pay at my hourly rate although it is roughly double what the basic temping rate is. RM should be doing the same thing and paying holiday pay at the rate at which you're "contracted".
