I had only applied (maybe mistakenly) for the flexible resource job (as and when needed), perhaps assuming that there was bound to be work for Xmas (when it's busier) rather than the Xmas casual (should've applied for both).
Received the contract 25/10, sent it back the same day. By mid November, no ID so I phoned up and they'd apparently not received it. So another contract sent and £5+ on special delivery to make absolutely sure they received it.
But still no ID badge, so I had to phone again and this time they couldn't find my photos! So another £5+ on special delivery.
Eventually by early December, I'd pretty much given up. And so I applied for a call centre job and thankfully I've got in, despite all the other applicants and candidates on the day.
The thing is, my status still says 'hired and start date agreed' - which is obviously codswallop.
And I phoned Manpower to see if I could start that way (too late bec of security checks) and they told me they'd already sent people there during late November/early December. So I could've avoided all this nonsense if I'd signed with Manpower in October.
Thankfully, I passed an assessment centre for a tech job on the phones.
