Is there anyone there???????

Post by richard.turvey »

I'm unemployed and applied for Christmas casual work. Interview was on the 14th October. I'm due to start on Monday, but I have not heard a word from RM/Angard. Do I turn up on Monday? Have I got a Job? Why do unemployed people get treated with so much disrespect.

I'm speachless - and probably not alone

Don't worry RM treat everyone with the same disrespect it's nothing personal!

If they told you to start Monday then go to the office Monday, what do you have to lose if they don't need you when you get there?

Just turn up... I turned up for a start and they said they hadnt asked for any casuals and turned me away..(typical Angard!!!) ...before I left I made sure they had my mobile number and said "If you do need someone call me direct and I'll be down straightaway!"
I just got back home and they called from the DO asking if I could come back! ....I have been there two months now

Moral of the story is put yourself about a bit ...better than sitting at home waiting
cheers

Thanks guys. I took your advice and turned up for my shift but no job - what a surprise!! Just a blank look from the a postperson behind the counter. "Sorry, there's no shift available"

The goverment keeps carping on about people on benefits and how we should all be in work! They need to take long look at the recruitment tactics of one of this Countrie's largest employers. Hardly a shining example of people managment.

I provided endless amount of information, incurred costs for photpgraphs.I stood in a Queue for hours, 'like tramps lining up for free soup' at a posh hotel at Gatwick Airport- Get offered a position and nothing at the end of it!

Well it's a 'Bob Cratchett' Christmas for us this year. Look through our window, and my wife and and our three kids will be sharing a turkey leg!

Well done Royal Mail, you really are a 'Piece of Work' :evil/mad

Sorry to hear that, RM really is run by tossers who have no regard for the people they employ or promise to employ!

Try the supermarkets. Lots of them employ extra temporary staff over xmas, might be worth a shot? :hmmmm
