Yes,because they are useless, contact them about it.
Erm,not about them being useless, the other thing.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: christmas casual
After a call confirming employment and start date I have turned up at Doxford Park in Sunderland today for my first day of work only to be turned away by a confused receptionist.
"no xmas temps working here today, dunno what you've been told."
After ringing in confusion and dissapointment Angard are unavailable and will get back to me as they have my details.
unbelievable incompetence.

Hello everybody, just like u guyz i was supposed to start on the 7th Nov, but my application still states processing security checks, the only reason why i applied to the cov/nuneaton centre because I was offerd more days otherwise birmingham centre is 3mins away from where i live, o well we learn from our mistakes by the way the cov centre is based in a gloomy setting in nuneeaton not coventry

Re: christmas casual
I joined this forum to firstly find a contact number as my son got a provisional offer letter to start 6 a.m. this morning at Crick Distribution centre which is a 70 mile round trip for my son who has been unemployed now for two months. I filled up his petrol tank and off he set in the hope that there would be a job for him when he arrived as Angard had not contacted him and was frightened if he didn't turn up he might miss his chance of employment. On arrival two other guys turned up with the same provisional offer letter to be told the same thing we don't know anything about you starting today. They then sent all three them off to the Swan Valley branch only to find the same answer no job here for you my son was gutted as all he wants to do is work and earn his own money, it was so good to see him being so positive and Angard ripped that away from him. I have rung Angard all day today without getting an answer but if this is who Royal Mail are dealing with they can kiss goodbye to what was a good reputation. I won't give up ringing someone will pay for my sons anguish and wasted time and my money.

Re: christmas casual
It's not that Royal Mail is dealing with Angard. Angard is a subsidiary of Royal Mail.
I'm sorry your son had to go through that. There are so many people with the same experience, it's just ludicrous.
I just hope that Angard/Royal Mail sort themselves out soon, or we'll still be delivering Christmas Mail in the Summer, because of a lack of staff!

Re: christmas casual
Hi there, I've had an interview with angard staffing on the 2nd nov for the royal mail xmas casual and was given a provisional offer letter and was told that security cheks will take a week or 2 weeks then they will email me with the start date, but the status of my application still says 'interview booked'. Does that mean its unlikely that I'll get the job? Ne1 with the same problem?
