I've been on the waiting list for the Birmingham mail centre for 3 years now, I've checked multiple times by calling their helpline on the status of my application and have always been told that i just have to wait. Well I think it's safe to say they don't care or I've been forgotten about.
What i don't understand is they still have the job vacancy on the Angard website and they're apparently recruiting for Christmas. What's the point if they're not looking to employ any more staff? Do they just keep the vacancy up so that they have a huge backlog of staff to choose from as and when they need? I know Angard are a mess, but this just a joke.

There is no waiting list!.You’re being mugged off.The job vacancies on the Angard site are for the standard zero hours contract with no promise of continuous work or regular shifts in MC’s.If you want a permanent fixed hours job at RM use the RM jobs website.Yes Angard do have rolling job ads as the turnover is quite high for the role.

Re: Been on the waiting list for 3 years
I thought as much. So what they call a "waiting list" is just a huge backlog of applicants they can choose from? I've been with Angard before at another MC and there was a wait, but i got my induction eventually. I haven't even had an induction. Obviously the some MCs get a lot more attention than others.PDAHappy wrote: ↑24 Oct 2024, 18:00There is no waiting list!.You’re being mugged off.The job vacancies on the Angard site are for the standard zero hours contract with no promise of continuous work or regular shifts in MC’s.If you want a permanent fixed hours job at RM use the RM jobs website.Yes Angard do have rolling job ads as the turnover is quite high for the role.

It sounds more likely you've either been blacklisted or totally forgotten about, as there's no way there's a 3 year waiting list anywhere in RM at the moment when staff turnover is so high. Personally I'd call into the MC and speak to a manager and ask him if he knows what's going on.Wells_91 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024, 09:41I thought as much. Re: Been on the waiting list for 3 years
Want to hear the latest? I receive a reply from an email a couple of weeks ago (a month after the email was sent) and have been told that my candidate ID doesn't exist. The last email i received from them was in February this year and was told then that i'm "on the waiting list", so somewhere between now and then my application must have been discarded.
