Zero hour contract ban
Zero hour contract will be banned within 100 days of labour coming into power essentially meaning by Sept 24. From what I know those who want to continue on ZHC they can otherwise employer has to give a contract. Does anyone know how the contracts hours will be awarded and will it be a fixed-term or substantive contract?

Re: Zero hour contract ban
I cannot see what the change will be if the employee has the option to opt out. The fixed term element may well be the shortest available and could well see a drop in hourly rate. I wonder how many will opt out and keep to the zero hour flexibility (works for quite a few). Time will tell.

Re: Zero hour contract ban
Nothing will change in reality as employers just won't employ anyone who doesn't opt out

Re: Zero hour contract ban
But curious to see how they’d handle people who are already employed and don’t want to opt out as getting rid of someone is obviously a lot tricker than not employing someone to begin with.
)Personally I would opt out as I like a ZHC for a casual / second job)

Re: Zero hour contract ban
Angard is nothing more than an inhouse employment agency. As such you are designated a worker rather than an employee with no contract of employment. The same as Reed/Manpower recruitment agency
Employment agencies have never offered substantive contracts or days of work, with or without the ZHC. The only exceptions will be fixed term temporary contracts with set hours and days of attendance.
Put simply
Agree to the conditions set by the employer or the employment agency will not allocate you for any work with that employer.
