Ha ha. No. Tried half hour ago, eventually got message 'we are busy but please hold' and was then cut off. Guess that's one way to keep queues down. I used to work in payroll and don,t understand how they are being allowed to get away with this. I only want my holiday pay, p45 and an explanation of a small net deduction showing on a payslip. Shouldn't be that difficult. And i know i'm one of the lucky ones cos i was actually paid for hours worked.

I did on 0845 4607487 earlier this morning. They answered after a few secs, so worth giving that one a go.

dragna, is that number for payroll itself, or for the "hotline" that simply takes your details/requests then passes it onto payroll?

About to go through the weekly rigmarole of phoning up myself and would love to speak to someone actually responsible for the payroll rather than some uninformed phone pig.

EDIT: nevermind, just tried it myself and it was another stupid message taking service who promise to pass my query onto payroll. Me - "any idea on the turn around on this?" Angard - "no it could be a day, two days, it just depends how long it takes them to see the email"

Brilliant

I called 01604 634319 at 9.30 this morning and got thru no bother. The nice girl I spoke to was able to check my payslip and details on the system and correct the error in my wages so I presume it was payroll I got thru to.

To those who have called and gotten through to the actual payroll department rather than these overflow monkeys, what sort of time did you call at and did the call get answered reasonably quickly?

Just had a letter asking me to repay them 48 quid when in actual fact they owe me circa 600! Gave the boy on the phone a right bollocking for giving me the usual nonsense patter and he advised that if there were payroll staff available then they would answer first on the same number. He also then mentioned that they (the overflow) aren't even the same company, but in fact jut an outsourced group employed by Angard to deal with their calls!!!
