FAO experienced people, is this possible?

So in my interview I signed the provisional contract saying that I'd be on the late shift as it was hard for me to do any other shift. However, I got my confirmation email today telling me I've got to work nights. I could do with the money from this job but really can't work every night of the week due to other commitments (unless I find a way of surviving with zero sleep). From your experience, are the managers flexible enough to allow people to work perhaps 3 days a week or change starting times around a bit or is it set in stone?

Any help much appreciated.

The best thing to do is either speak to the line manager and explain your situation and say you can do so many hours at night.
Then they should just put the hours down you do.
I have a been a postman and a casual for many years and it's never been right.
Delivering is a mare !!!
