Was originally meant to start today - has been Security Checks Passed since last Monday. Rang last week and was told this date was not set in stone and they would get in touch. Tried to ring them at least 10 times in last couple of hours (Xmas helpline 01604 629 381) and just cant get through. Think i'll wait til after 2 when folk are off their lunch.

Unbelievable.

No email, no phone call. Nothing mate. Was told 6 weeks ago that the likely starting date was Monday 21st November.

I seem to be in the same position as many with no contact since I recieved a provisional offer and start date. I too need the work and have been left on a limb. I feel that this company is where all the extra hourly pay has gone for the xmas work. What do they do for this money? Well what they do is string unemployed people along filling their books with our names so they have as many and more to fill the christmas work for their own profit with no real care or thought for any individuals who are relying on the work. So if 1st worker doesnt turn up they have the 2nd waiting in the wings. They have so many 2nd's that alot of us will miss out I feel, and should have been looking elsewhere if ya havent been already. I feel it is a dispicable thing to do to people at any time but in times like these doubly so. I'm sure it makes good financial sense for Royal Mail but I feel this is the lowest of the low and at this rate I will have to make my own stamps for the christmas cards this year. :confused

This company is an absolute shambles! just rang and managed to actually get through, the guy took my number and told me he would get someone to ring me, I asked if this would take place today, he said he didnt know :mad. Also he informed me that he didn't actually work for angard and was just covering the phones. Brilliant, I wont hold my breathe on the call back. So annoyed with this two bob firm!

I've just spoken to the same guy. He couldn't even tell me if I would get a call back today, even though I told him I should be starting work tonight.
I don't even know if I should turn up.

Just sent them an email as cannot get through by phone, at least any reply will be in writing rather than verbally.

I was told at the interview that if I hadn't heard anything back, I should just turn up for work with my provisional offer, but after reading messages on this forum, I'm not sure it will be just a wasted journey.

As far as I know interviews are still taking place - I started as a Christmas Casual some years ago now and the last batch started in the 2nd week of December, so don't lose hope you can still make it. However, you could try the phone numbers in this thread, or their automated email system.

I've heard nothing since having an interview

Post by rachy1980 »

Hello,

I'm hoping somone can help me. I went to an interview at the Dorcan sorting office for christmas work. I was given a provisional offer letter and booked an induction day, this is tomorrow at Outhouse. I've not heard from anyone and when I look at my application on-line it's saying it's doing system checks. Do I still go to my induction and can anyone help and let me know where Outhouse is in Swindon. All I was told is that it's near Penhill.

Rachel

I have just rang our sorting office in Dorcan (Swindon). They said to go there tomorrow for the induction. I'll see when I go there what happens and whether or not I would been wasting my time.
I did ring 01604629381, a couple of times they just hung up on me and the rest it's constantly engaged

They have given me a start date and no address apart from the first 3 digits of the postcode. Their headed letters have no contact details of any kind. I'm beginning to wonder if they exist at all?
