They never gave me an official start date, but said I would be contacted once I had passed all the security checks.
I think the first shift should have been 30th of October, but since I had received no contact from them I just assumed I hadn't got it.

About a week after this, I was checking through my online application to see if they said anything and I noticed I had passed all the security checks, so I was wondering why I hadn't been contacted... I tried to phone the nearest Anguard offices, but the person on the phone told me that the company was no longer occupying those offices so I was kinda feeling like I had been screwed over and it was a waste of time.

My application was still saying I had passed the checks, and that's what led me to this forum.

yeah. I start on Monday nightshift.

I was kinda confused about where I would be working because the original advert was for the centre near the Aquatec, and then my interview was in Netherton, and then my application said Eurocentral.

I tried calling for over 2 hours last night from 3 45 till 6. No one picked up except from time to time I would get through to the non- christmas team and be transferred to the Christmas team who again, wouldn't pick up. Seems they have pretty much no lines running...tried again just now and its the same story.
How are we supposed to contact them?!

Maybe the christmas staff are too busy trying to sort out the applications! Just keep ringing, you'll get there eventually!

I'm in the same boat as lots of people by the looks of it as I'm in the 'Security Checks Passed' category. Am trying to call the 01604 629381 this morning but its been engaged for over an hour now. As soon as I get any joy I'll post some comment.

I understand that although the security checks will be passed, you may not recieve your formal offer, confirming times & dates until a week before you are due to start. It is true that until the formal offer is made, changes may still legally be made, though this is unusual and you would most likely be contacted quickly by Royal Mail to see if you would like a different role or shift, were this the case. If you have been given a provisional offer, then it means a position on the shift has been reserved for you. If, however, you were given a reserve offer, it means that you are on the waiting list for a position and you won't be contacted until (or if) one of the positions has become available, as other candidates drop out, get other jobs or fail the security checks.

Hope that helps!

Wow, thanks Happyhelper that's the most helpful thing I've read since ny original application!

I do have the provisional offer and it's due for next Monday at Birmingham. You say there is a place reserved on the shift, so do you think it would be ok for me to just turn up for the shift if I don't receive any confirmation/further contact from Angard beforehand?

Thanks again

I had a Provisional Offer letter for a start date at the Exeter Mail Centre on the early shift of Tuesday, 22nd November (ie tomorrow). I have heard nothing since being given the provisional offer back in October and every time I 'phone Angard, they hang up on me.

So, so I just turn up at 6am tomorrow or what?

I'm a Warrington Xmas Casual Applicant and been having the same problem as many people here. Got the number from this thread and finally got through to them after 2 hours of calling. Only to be told to email that xmas casual email address again which sends back an automatic message. On the other number I got a slightly better response by a man who doesnt even work for angard who told me to leave my name and number and someone from the team will get back to me.

Absolute shambles. I'm going to keep at it as it seems the only way people are getting start dates is by contacting them by phone directly and not waiting for call back.

Well at least I got to speak to someone at long last. Was told categorically not to turn up for the shift without a confirming email which I will be receiving this week (so they say).

So more sitting and waiting on tenterhooks, I'm due to start next Monday at Birmingham.

Let us all know how things progress for you guys and gals.
