Who knows what time of maths they use. On my wage slip it said that my Total taxable pay was £600 odd, when it should be £1,140.00. I've had three payment of 2 x £171.72 (ET Tax Rate) and the magic 1p payment!
Its all one big shambles. It would easier for them to take the £350 off the total amount of wages due instead of claiming it all back at a random amount. :nervous

happy new year to everyone by the way. i certainly willnot forget this year in a hurry

£350.00 voucher from Royal mail, by my calculations the amount from this £350.00 minus Tax (£41.25) and NI (£25.32) equals £283.43. So the deductions they should be taking total £66.57 not a random amount leaving you with just a penny! Im pretty good at maths it takes a few minutes to work out. The amounts are based on Emergency/BR tax because god forbid if anyone has got the right tax code sorted by them.
He's taking tax and NI from the £350 as it is taxable income, and thinking about it we may have to work out tax and NI as if £350 was a net payment (after tax) rather than a gross payment as we are now.

This means for each £350 voucher if we are on BR rate for tax purposes it is equivalent to earning £500 gross, or £450 gross if we are on normal rate (assuming normal tax allowance and weekly pay).

As such it is not surprising some people are only receiving a nominal amount of a penny if they have received a voucher as they may be overpaid up to the week they worked (though knowing Angard this is probably not the case).
