What a pi** take on this companies jobsearch they have just copied and pasted RMs search function and just removed the RM logo from the top! Isnt this shadow company bascially sticking two fingers up at the CWU and all the national agreements? For instance didnt the CWU fight hard to get rid of those casual contracts with no garanteed hours?

From a 'Casual Flexible Resource' vacancy (From the work description obviously just a mail sorter job renamed)

You will have the opportunity to work flexible hours on a casual short-term basis, particularly at busy periods. You will work as and when required, with no fixed shift pattern or guaranteed hours. However a typical shift would be 8 hours.

This is an outragous slight of hand, the CWU should be fighting this right now!

Now...the real question is...why would a company that has publicly declared it's wish to drive the company forward with a 75/25 substantive staffing mix reactivate a dormant shady recruitment company to recruit staff.
Does it see a future casualisation of the industry as an earning opportunity to good to miss?
What does our union have to say about this?

Iam surprised our forum members dont really have more to say about this. You think your jobs are under pressure right now what about when they slowly ramp up this agency where they can get workers for around 60% of your basic hourly rate? Plus all the pension contributions and holiday entitlement etc will all probably be the minimum they can get away with by law! This agency dicovery is massive in a company where most of its exdenditure is staff costs.

Couldn't agree more. There will be a core workforce and the rest made up as and when with agency staff.

We'll be one half of the '2 man, 1 van' system and they'll be the other.

I dont even think they need a half of the 2 man system. 99% of new jobs for posties are now advertised as having to have license to apply. Iam a PT casual and i never have training on new walks that iam given most days. I can see a future where people are just given a few days training then let loose its not like RM give a toss about customer service anymore!
