hmm i kinda lucked out i guess. Passed security checks for my mdec so i have that job for xmas.

Now i got a message through asking me to book an appointment for an interview at the mail sorting office also. So i have a chance do to that also. Not sure if they will allow me to do both jobs or if i will just have to choose.

I'm so angry and frustrated, I was a casual last year - my friend and I both put our applications in on the same day and he wasn't a casual yet he gets an interview and I don't?

Can I phone the xmas helpline for this and ask why I didnt get an interview? I'm so annoyed, I was counting on this job, thank goodness I applied for another job just in case.

Dont be upset yet i was an ex casual too last year and i applied on the 2nd of sep and was also becming frustated as to why i havent got an email regarding registration event ...with the looks of things i tink they are replying the newbies first ....as dis happened to ma friend as well she got email before me .... i just got invitation for interview today ...dont call yet i would say if anyting wait till next week and if you dont hear anyting den give dem a call..i got my email at around 9pm so keep track of your emails during the night too..

I am in the same boat too. Trouble is, I am going abroad for 3 wks, so it will be sod's law that the registration event will be when I'm away. This time last year it was all sorted. Well, then there was a cock up & I had to reapply! I had this "clever" idea to ring the hotel that holds the event, but was made to wish that I hadn't by some jumped up receptionist! I did ask if anybody knew when the Truro event was.

Another friend has got an interview and he was a casual last year so i'm phoning up at 9am on the dot to see whats wrong.. I don't mean to sound big headed but i'm a extremely hard worker, last year I was doing the job of two full time men on one department. Its so unfair if I don't get the job, or the fact that other people are ahead of me.

I am a two-times previous christmas casual, with a weird "job offer" on the system this year, but for a center i no longer live next to.... still on "application received" for Belfast (Newtownabbey - NI mail centre), never even got a test -- although I do have a "congratulation on passing your assessments" for some reason

I haven't, but I've gone onto security checks passed and I'm not expecting a response any time soon anyway. But I know my starting date is very unlikely to be before late November so I'm not unhappy.

When are you fixin' to start? If it's only a few weeks before Christmas no tears need be shed, they've not been telling people until a few days before at my MDEC these last few years.

Proof of ID - Yes, Proof of address has to be a recent utility bill/bank statement.

Remember photocopies too.

Just had a look on the "Cat 14 Information Checklist for Candidates" document for my friend and it says you can use a driving license and counterpart for identity+proof of address.

Anybody got an interview date for the Ipswich area yet? Talked to another 'regular' and had not received anything. Hopefully they're just on the drag.

In past experience you get a txt/mail in the first week of Oct in order to book your slot at hotel/whatever for middle of the month..ish.
