Breaks

Post by pleb »

As of Monday breaks at ydc reduced by manager, on three pm start. Major arguing as he claimed there had never been a four pm break on a three pm start! Now if you start a three pm shift you go to six pm before break.
So in a heatwave they reduce the breaks.
Does anybody have any written evidence of break allowance for angard? Thanks.

Angard are entitled to the same breaks and length as regular contracted staff.

Any break allowance info by Angard would only give break length not when they have to be taken.

You don’t say how long the shift is overall but if it starts at 3pm it doesn’t seem unreasonable for the break to be later than 4 tbh.

Obviously heat is an issue at the moment so stay well hydrated etc

Locally, at least on my shift, all the Angard have the exact same breaks as us proper RM staff. The timings might vary between work areas though.

We finished at ten. The four pm break has been the case for ages during the week.

break start times are at management discretion so long as you get your allocated break there's nothing to complain about for having one later than 4pm.

Breaks half way or later are surely better.
