FedEx (FDX) is convinced that it will succeed where UPS (UPS) failed in acquiring TNT Express.

FedEx FedEx Is Feeling Confident Over TNT Express DealFedEX is offering $5 billion for TNT Express and it’s sure that the deal will go through. The two companies have said that European regulators aren’t opposed to the acquisition. FDX claims that this is due to not having the same concentration as UPS does in the market, reports CNBC.

Once FedEX has the final approval it needs from European regulators, it expects to complete its acquisition of TNT Express in the first half of 2016. The purchase of TNT Express will give it a larger presence in some European countries than what UPS has, CNBC notes.

The acquisition of TNT Express will make FedEx the second-largest delivery service in Europe, which is a position currently held by UPS. DHL is the largest delivery service in Europe.
