Norway Post has been struggling to cut its costs in step with its declining mail volumes, which has pushed earnings down 46% in its first quarter.
The national postal service in Norway said its mail volumes have dropped 9% year-on-year, driven by declines in the finance/insurance sector.
The first quarter of 2013 saw Norway Post generating NOK 5.7bn (EUR 748m) in revenues, down 1.2% year-on-year, according to unaudited figures, while pre-tax earnings were down by nearly a half to NOK 146m (EUR 19.2m)...
